Who exactly is this workshop for?
You are a professional woman, an entrepreneur or stay at home mom who wants to feel more confident and secure knowing that you will have the money you need to retire comfortably, to enjoy your work and family without feeling financial pressures and to have money left over for you. Specifically,
- You may be experiencing or contemplating a life transition like a career change, marriage, having children, or retirement and you aren’t sure what the impact will be on your finances. With so much uncertainty, you may be finding it hard to make decisions and it might feel like money (or the lack of it) is throwing cold water on your plans.
- Or, you may never have taken an active role in managing your (or your family’s) finances, but realize that it’s time to get more involved with your money either through desire to take charge or because of a life change such as divorce or death of a spouse.
- You may be tired of feeling stressed about money and are ready to take charge but you aren’t sure where to start, where to turn or who to trust.
If any of these are true for you, this workshop may be what you’re looking for.

How does the Build Your Own Financial Plan program work?
The program is highly interactive and hands-on and is designed to not only help you learn the basics of financial planning, but to give you the skills, tools, tips and techniques to take immediate action with your money.
Classes run over 3 months and are facilitated by Karin & Sheila, experienced financial planners and educators. You will also get a 138 page learning guide that distills all of the most important financial concepts in concise, practical, easy to understand language. It also includes stories, resources, and a CD with all the worksheets you need to build your financial plan.
We know how busy you are so we’ve designed the program to break up complex topics into manageable pieces so you can integrate the information slowly and consistently. That’s why we meet every few weeks so you have time in between the classes to read and integrate the new material, work on the worksheets and be prepared with your questions for the following class.
This way you don’t just get a bunch of information and worksheets that end up sitting on your desk, you get the structure and accountability to help make sure you get organized with your money - once and for all.
Each class follows a similar format – We review the key concepts and “homework” relating to the session, facilitate discussion and Q&A, work on exercises individually and in groups and then go over what you need to do for the next session.
Karin and Sheila are co-facilitators of the program and sessions are facilitated by one or both instructors. We are available before and after the sessions to answer questions privately if you would prefer not to participate in class discussions.
